The East Memphis campus of Baptist Memorial Health Care includes our flagship hospital, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, which is one of Tennessee's highest volume medical centers. This 80-acre campus is also home to Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women, the Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital, Baptist Memorial Restorative Care Hospital, Baptist Heart Institute, Baptist Women’s Health Center and five (5) physicians’ office buildings.

Updated Visitor Guidelines

Parking: Self, Valet and Shuttle

Well-lit, security-patrolled garages are located on our hospital campus. Handicap parking is available in both the outside lots and on each floor of the parking garages.

Valet Parking is available at the main entrance to the hospital and at the entrance to 6025 Walnut Grove, Medical Plaza 1. This service is available at both locations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. for a nominal fee.

Shuttle Service is complimentary and available at all times for transportation to and from the locations on the hospital campus, including Hampton Inn. For shuttle transportation to your vehicle, dial 6-5520 from any in-house phone located at any hospital entrance. For shuttle transportation from your vehicle to the building, dial 901-226-5520.

ATM: Vending area on the first floor next to the cafeteria.

The grill closes at 7:30 p.m.; Grab & Go items are available until 11:00 p.m.

Vending machines are located on floors 2 through 4 next to the guest elevators. A large vending area is located on the first floor next to the Willows Café.

Counseling

Counseling services for patients: dietary, financial, health care choices, religious, rehabilitation and lifestyle arrangements.

Chapel

The chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital near the main entrance is always open to provide a quiet place for prayer and meditation.

Sunday service: 10:00 a.m. (Also viewable live on channel 6 in patient rooms.)
Weekday prayers: 9:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.

Gift Shop and Flower Deliveries

The Gift Shop is on the first floor at the hospital’s main entrance. Free delivery is available upon request. Dial 6-5822 from your room.
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Weekends: 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Flower delivery: Local florists make deliveries to patients Monday through Saturday.

Hearing-Impaired Services

TDD (Telephone Device for the Deaf) equipment is available at no charge for our hearing-impaired patients. In addition, interpretation services are provided for our hearing-impaired patients upon request. Please contact the nursing staff or Help Line. More on hearing impaired services.

Interpretation Services

When needed, interpretation services are provided for patients who do not speak English. Please contact your nurse for assistance with obtaining a language interpreter. Learn more on translation services.

Laundry Room

A complimentary washer and dryer set is available on the third floor of the hospital. Detergent may be purchased in the gift shop.

Library

The Ann L. and Joseph H. Powell Libraryfor patients and visitors is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and is on the 1st floor of 6025 Walnut Grove, Medical Plaza 1. Services include computer and internet access, faxing, photocopying, as well as health-related resources available for checkout.

Mail Services

Patient mail is received by our mailroom Monday through Saturday and is delivered to patients. Once you are discharged, your mail will be forwarded to your home address. Stamps may be purchased from the gift shop on first floor of the hospital. A mail drop is located in the guest elevator alcove on the first floor in the main lobby.

Notary Public

Please consult the local phone directory for notaries public. Hospital staff and volunteers are prohibited from witnessing or notarizing any documents related to a patient’s health care wishes.

Pharmacies (retail)

The Walnut Grove Plaza Pharmacy is in the building directly across from the hospital’s main entrance (Medical Plaza 1) and is available to you for any prescriptions or over-the-counter (OTC) medications you might need to take home upon discharge.
